A few of my children like Halloween more than Christmas. Because Fall is my favorite time of year, I may have influenced them somewhat. I have made a few Halloween quilts over the years and thought I'd share them with you.
This was one of the first quilts I made, titled "Late Night In the Pumpkin Patch". I attended Quilt Fest with the Utah Quilt Guild in1999 and took a class by designer and National teacher Linda Brannock.
I loved being able to combine stitchery with quilting.
I made this one right before I moved to St. George a few years ago. I was in a quilt group in Draper and we shared fabrics and made this together. It's called "Rusted Moons" by Journey's.
This was my first "Fun and Done" quilt. I took a class taught by Annie Unrein. I just wanted to learn the technique so I wasn't too worried about the fabric I used. These quilts require a lot of background fabric and I had a large piece of black spiderweb. Using left over Halloween pieces I had enough to get a "free quilt". I think it turned out pretty cute for not planning much.
These pictures are kind of blurry. ( Sorry about that). These are pictures of pictures so they aren't very clear. I still wanted to show you this quilt because it's so cute. This is a quilt daughter #2 requested a few years ago, and the quilt now lives in Phoenix. She requested that if by chance I wanted to make it for her she would love it. Amy hardly asks for anything, so I got right on it, very happy to make a quilt that called to her.
It's called "Hocus Pocus" by Dana Brooks of Lazy Daisy Cottage here in St. George.

Seriously cute quilts! Not sure which is my favorite, I think Hocus Pocus, cause really, those withces feet are too darling!
I just love your blog. My family all still lives in the St. George area (Santa Clara and Hurricane mostly) and I love hearing about your adventures there. Especially the quilt shops as now I know where to go when I'm in town! Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your life with all of us:)
cute....cute.....yes...and that ones cute too....cute....and some more cute!
Love all your Halloween/Fall quilts. I am hoping your rain sticks are successful in bringing cooler temps to St. George as I am taking the kids to see Grandma and Grandpa in two weeks.
What terrific Halloween quilts you have. I love the stitching you did on the first one. Great sense of color, Nedra! Your applique is beautiful.
Nedra,
I love your blog. I have to ask you how you made the cute Title of your blog with the pictures in back-ground. It looks like you did it professionally or with photo-shop of something. I'm trying to make a cute logo and can't figure out how to do it.
Holy cow nedra what a great assortment of fun fall quilts. You have your own quilt show there. How great is that!
They are all so cute! I love fall and Halloween!
