Crooked Nickel Quilt Designs

 I am in the midst of
helping out for a few days
 in a Vendor Booth
with
during the
Arizona Quilt Craft & Sewing Festival
 Being relatively new to Arizona,
this is my first time to this Festival
which is in it's 19th year.
This is a well run event that fills several buildings,
and we've had large crowds in attendance each day.
 I've had a delightful time getting to know
Lisa Maki
owner and creator of
 Lisa asked me if I would be a
Worker Bee
and help demonstrate how to make a
T-Shirt Quilt
using her Crooked Nickel technique.
 This really is the most simple, easy way to make a Memory Quilt
with T-Shirts.
Even for beginning sewers, this quilt top is so stress free,
you don't even have to use pins in the construction.
Lisa has developed a system
using a lightweight Pellon
with a fusible grid as the base foundation.
Her motto is
Fast
Simple
Perfect
If you would like to see a video
that shows Lisa making her T-Shirt Quilt
you can view it on the
Crooked Nickel web site
There are so many possibilities for
preserving memories with a
T-Shirt quilt:
Many of us have saved our T-Shirts over the years
from favorite schools, sports teams,
or travels.
I had one woman who came to the booth
so relieved to see an easy way to preserve her
father's T-Shirts
that would not take a lot of time to construct.
She said we were an answer to her prayers.
Her father had recently passed away, and she wanted to
make a quilt for each of his grandchildren
using his shirts.
Quilting provides comfort in so many ways :)

How fun Nedra. You are the perfect teacher/helper! Looks like a fun idea. I have so many of Max's baseball tee's I'll have to look into her product.
