Ric Rac Roses

One of the fun things about attending the
Dream Laugh Create Studio Party
were all of the demo's and
make-it-and-take-it's.
 I especially liked the
Ric Rac Rose
that can be whipped up in a matter of minutes.
My friend Gina (The Threaded Pear)
showed how easy it is to use
Jumbo Ric Rac
in creating this simple as ABC project.
We started by ironing a long length of ric rac in half.
Then Gina showed us a folding method to keep the rose together.
We didn't even have to use a needle or thread.
With green ric rac for the leaf
and a small piece of felt and pin for the back
our Ric Rac Roses
were complete!
 Pattern can be purchased from
Gina uses her Ric Rac Roses
as embellishments on several projects.
Love this cute addition to a backpack.
And Gina had fancied up the apron
she was wearing during the demo.
*I think these would make a really nice gift idea, too!
If you would like to attend the
NEXT
Dream Laugh Create event
here in Chandler, Arizona
on April 11th
registration can be submitted

That rose is just too cute. I can definitely see myself making some of those.

Many years ago the 'ric rac rose' was demonstrated at one of our quilting bees. My rose was the laughing stock of the bee - never could quite get the hang of it!!!! :-)
