I just got my Kaffe Baskets quilt back from the quilter, and it's now bound.
I am
so pleased with the beautiful longarm work done by cute Judi of
Green Fairy Quilts.
There isn't a pattern for this quilt. I took the baskets from one book, and the interior idea from another quilt, and the border from another.
I made every basket out of a Kaffe Fassett fabric.
Look at Judi's beautiful quilting. This is all free-hand stitch, and doesn't include any computerized work. I live just a few blocks away from Judi and am so impressed with her talent.
I used Texture Magic on several of the baskets to add some depth and interest to the quilt. It's also a great way to show an example of how easy it is to do needle turn applique with Texture Magic.
I also added Texture Magic to some of the outside circles in the border.

It is a beautiful quilt indeed!
I don't know anything about longarm machine quilting, so I was wondering - is it you who specifies to the LA quilter what the pattern should be in the different blocks, borders, etc, or is it her that decides. Anyway, it is a most gorgeous result.
This is amazing! I love it! the design is great and the quilting...
hugs
