Have You Backed Up Your Blog?

I've heard another horror story.
Blogger has completely deleted a person's posts.
Years of work, completely gone.
Vanished
Lost

More terrifying than watching the shower scene from Psycho on Halloween....in the dark....by yourself.
But, there is good news:
You can back up your blog.
Carina of Carina's Craftblog gives STEP-BY-STEP instructions for downloading your own blog into your own files HERE
She even teaches us how to save our templates.
It was easy.
I just backed up my files a few minutes ago.
And I plan on repeating the procedure often.
Guess who will be sleeping better tonight?
Thank you Carina!
Have YOU backed up your blog?

Oh yes, horror!!! I learned about this from somewhere last year but haven't done anything about it. I'll go check out what she instructs and get mine backed up! This is something I had not ever though about!

Wow, that was sooooo easy. I think what I saw a year ago was more complicated to do and that is probable why I haven't done it.

I had not thought to do that. I will have to find out how to do it with wordpress. thanks for the warning.

Yes, that could be BAD to lose the whole thing. I save each and every post a few days after posting so I get the comments, too. It's a comfort zone thing to know I have them all on my own computer.

I'm not surprised Blogger is doing that; there is an unbelievable amount of stuff out there in cyberspace and a lot of it should be ditched anyway! They could have done a survey though, to see which blogs are still active, and only delete the ones that haven't been used for some time, like a year.
