Ladybugs, Bumblebees, and Optimus Prime, Oh My!

Halloween is a very popular holiday here in the United States. But, depending on where you live, the "culture" of the celebration varies from state to state.
I read where some areas were so heavily blanketed with heavy snow there were power outages and cancellations of Trick or Treat.
We experienced our first Halloween here in Arizona, where I was just grateful that the temperatures had recently dropped below 100 degrees.

This was the first year our little grand daughter was able to somewhat comprehend dressing up in costume.

I thought she was a very cute ladybug.

The boys went as Transformers, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.

Halloween is BIG here. We have noticed that many of the homes adorn their yards with strung lights and yard ornaments, similar to the amount of work that goes into decorating at Christmas time.

Miss Fashion Statement loves to wear her brother's shoes, and what ever else she can manage to steal off them.

I wonder what the neighbors thought of this costume?

Several families gathered together on a neighbor's driveway for a pot luck dinner to provide a little nutrition before mounds of candy filled the pumpkin buckets.

Together we walked door to door to Trick or Treat, fathers, mothers, grandparents, babies and children.

Some pulled wagons, others brought strollers.

With the beautiful weather, many neighbors sat on their front porch in shorts and tee shirts, handing out candy to the children.

I like Halloween in Arizona.
This is why we moved here, to share in the every day moments of our family.

Happy memories for all.

wonderful that you are now able to attend things like trick or treating and other moments in the grand-children's lives. We get to see ours for Thanksgiving and so looking forward to it.
