Oh, yes, I lived in that time. I swear that dress is made from the afghan that was on the back of my couch back then. ;)

What a wild dress--I have always had a love for granny squares--Maybe that is the quilter in me...

Oh my! My grandmother is surely flipping in her grave! I love a cozy granny square afghan as much as the next guy, but would never be caught dead wearing one as a dress in public!

How fun is that dress? I have a crochet tartan rug my mother in law made me, wonder how it would look in a skirt?!! xo

I lived through this time, too. However, I'm not sure how I feel about it as a dress...hm... ;)

It is pretty, but I think that I might sweat a lot in it. Although in the winter it may be doable

It's so funny you talking about granny squares. I had made a afghan back in the 70's, and guess what colors I decided on. Orange, brown and ecru. Hubby came across it and said where in the world did this come from. He didn't remember our orange and brown days. Love all the new colors being made into granny squares.

Cate Blanchett could wear a sack and look good but I don't think I could wear my craft. I've noticed a lot of fashion has included the crochet lately.

I saw this post went by quickly yesterday and have to come over and have a look. I posted the same photo last year. Isn't Cate looks gorgeous in it? Hugs Nat
