Months ago in the
February 2014 Edition of American Patchwork and Quilting
I saw Lissa Alexander's (Moda Lissa)
Tone It Down Quilt pattern
and knew I wanted to make it.
And then when I saw various versions and fabric combinations
contributed by 10 top designers
for a Quilt Along
I knew I had to play right away, too!
I started collecting fat quarters of
Low Volume and Text Prints for backgrounds
to make a real scrappy look.
I'm so happy with the result :)
My
Tone It Down Quilt
is now finished !
As you can see,
each block is quite scrappy.
I followed Lissa's original color pallet of using
aqua, orange, green, yellow and navy
with red as the predominant for the chains
The 15 inch blocks were fun to make,
and actually were much easier
than the over all quilt appears.
Lissa gives good instructions in the magazine.
It was fun to mix the colors up a bit.
20 blocks total
Add in 9-Patch Corner Stones along with sashings
and the final quilt measures a large
75 1/2" X 93 1/2"
(Twin size with an 18 inch drop)
Now, it's off to the quilter :)

it looks really good. I saw that pattern someplace awhile back - but as usual I was busy with more than one project and lost track of it. I will need to look once again for the pattern.
Lovely job Nedra...I personally love this quilt and all the variations of it...you are inspiring me to finish mine...all my blocks are finished...thanks for sharing
Mary
Beautiful quilt-love all yours! But tell me who is your long arm quilter and does she accept quilts from another state, Fl.?
Gorgeous quilt! I love your fabric choices...
it's beautiful, Nedra!
Congratulations on the happy family event!
