Happy Mr. Cactus

We are in Salt Lake this weekend for some family events and Mr. Cactus is very happy.
I looked out the window this morning and he was riding one of these with a big smile on his face. We are staying with our good friends the Steeds, who have a lot of acreage. Mr. Cactus volunteered to (play) help mow their lawn.
What is that old saying? Something like the only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys.
Happy Mr. Cactus.

Another reason Mr. Cactus is happy is this weekend we are connecting with a lot of family we haven't seen for a while. We are in town to help celebrate my Father-In-Laws 90th birthday. My husband comes from a large family. There are 9 children, 40 grandchildren and lots of great grand children. People have come in from all over the U.S. for this celebration.
My mother in law is gone now, but years ago she wrote and produced a musical. One of the grand daughters got family members together to perform a reenactment of the musical. We attended the performance last night, and it was wonderful to relive memories.

Grandpa got caught up with all the family that had come from out of town. He asked Paul all about his schooling and activities going on in his life right now.

Paul and his Grandpa Lynn.

While we are at Ruth's I have been watching her put a quilt together for her son who just graduated from High school and is getting ready to go away to college.

She gathered many of his tee shirts from High school events and put them into a quilt.

The placement was her own design.

I think she did a great job.

This quilt will keep him warm when he starts his first semester up at BYU/Idaho where it's very cold during the winter.
Today we are off to more family parties. That grandpa. He's a party animal even at age 90.
