For our guild Christmas Party
we were challenged to make a quilt
that will be used for
the decorations.
It was a "crayon challenge"
and the color I drew
randomly from the bag
was
"Tropical Turquoise"
The pattern I chose was
by Callie of
Make It Do
A throw size
50" X 68"
I downloaded my pattern from a PDF file
from
found
Love Callie's version in red :)
All of my quilt was made from scraps
which stays with Callie's theme
of Make It Do
In today's world we could learn a lot from
the old Depression Era saying
Use It Up
Wear It Out
Make It Do
Or Do Without
The backing is even from a piece I found in my stash.
I used the colors in the birds
to pull for the scraps
on the front.
My many thanks to Pat Roche
for the machine quilting :)
All labeled and ready for our Christmas Party
next Tuesday night.
Which, by the way, I will
NOT be able to attend :(
*for a very good reason,
that I will share with you tomorrow :)

Ooh! I love your quilt! I love the back! Wish I had that cute backing in MY stash!
Oh Nedra!!! I love your quilt. Its a pattern that I made 3 quilts from several years ago ( a queen for my bed...a twin for Ben's bed and a table topper for my kitchen) except my pattern was called Scrappy Stars.
It's a great pattern for any color/style combo and I love yours!...and the backing and the adorable tag are perfect!
Wonderful colors and the backing is charming too!
Really beautiful stars quilt Nedra. Great job getting the stars to pop. Gorgeous fabrics.
