I think January is one of my favorite months.
At the beginning of each new year there is always the feeling of a clean slate and fresh starts.
I feel like setting goals, and am excited to tackle new adventures.
As many of you are aware, last March there was an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. exhibit called Infinite Variety, Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts at the American Folk Art Museum in New York.
I would have loved to attend, but that was not possible.
We even have a son attending school in Manhatten and I kept mentally fantasizing some way to get myself across the United States for a dual visit.
But, we were in the middle of a move, and life was complicated enough as it was.
My next best option was to download the Infinite Variety APP on my phone, where I now drool at leisure all 650 red and white American quilts that were on loan from the collection of JoAnna S. Rose.
There is no way to pick a favorite, and of course I wish I could make them all.
Recently I became aware of a new Mystery Quilt-Along available to join called Just Takes 2.
Hosted by Gay Bomers (Sentimental Stitches) and Brenda Papadakis (of Dear Jane fame).
These ladies were so smitten with the exhibit, that they have created a blog and Quilt Along in honor of Red and White quilts.
Each month 2 sections of the Mystery quilt will be revealed from their 2 blogs.
Yes! Absolutely! and Of Course! I've joined.
If you feel a compulsion to make a red and white quilt, and are interested in joining the group, make sure to run over and read all the details on Just Takes 2.

Red and White makes pink! I so need to check this out! Thanks for the links.
Isn't it awesome that Gaye and Brenda are doing this? I buried myself in the sewing room to make a start already.
I totally agree with your thoughts on January, Nedra! Now I'm off to check out this red and white event! Sounds like fun!
