Dixie Quilt Guild January 2009 Meeting

Once the taping of Superior Threads DVD was over, our guild members lined up for Show and Tell. We didn't seem to have as many participants this month, maybe because we were still recuperating from the holiday's.

A fun Christmas quilt.

One of our members brought a great organizational idea. She went to Franklin Covey and purchased a planner just for her quilt ideas. Inside she keeps all the store's business cards, punch cards, etc. Plastic sleeves hold samples of fabrics she is looking to match. Lined paper is used to copy down creative thoughts and plans. The binder is kept in her car, and readily available when she's ready to head out to a store.
Fractured Crystals from a recent workshop.

For a day workshop some of our guild members made these cut- work sweatshirts.

This southwest quilt is an original design.

There is a funny story that goes with this dog wall hanging. She made it for a friend and then realized she couldn't give it to her because it was the wrong kind of dog! We told her she did good work anyway! And many offered to take it off her hands.

Bev keeps producing and producing.

Margaret made this for Bev as a Christmas present. It's a wall hanging for all of her quilt pins. If you've collected a lot of pins this is the way to go, rather than keeping them on a lanyard.

What a great idea to get a planner just for quilting...in fact I have an extra Franklin binder that I can use...thanks so much for a terrific idea!

The travel section in Sunday's paper listed places to visit in different categories. St. George was the number 1 place to visit in the US...thought I'd let you know. :o)
