I've been having fun playing with
Lori's (Bee In My Bonnet)
new Hexie Half Rulers
Our friend Sherri (A Quilting Life)
offers a free tutorial
using Lori's rulers
to make a
Half Hexie Pillow
*see tutorial
Sherri asked me if I would also make a pillow
to be part of her
Half Hexie Pillow Parade
I was happy to be invited
and said yes immediately!
The pillow worked up quickly
using the smaller template.
The Hexie Half Rulers
are well made, easy to use,
and are charm pack friendly.
The rulers can be found in Lori's
Etsy Shop
Stephanie (stuph.from.steph) had given me a
5" Charm pack of
Quilt Blocks
and I've been looking for
the perfect project to
dip into them.
Sherri's tutorial is for a 14" pillow,
but I had a
12" X 24" pillow form
I've been wanting to use.
I adapted her tutorial to use
8 rows across
and
6 rows down of
Half Hexie's
One of the things I have learned while
using the template,
is that small print fabrics
without a directional pattern
work best.
Can you see how some of the blocks
look better visually than others?
Sherri's
Half Hexie Pillow Parade
will be shown on her blog
this Friday the 22nd.
*just three days away!
Thanks Sherri for the invite
to play along.

Oh Nedra that is as cute as it can be!
Love your fabric choice.
How sweet is that!!!!
I love it Nedra!...and I think that even the larger prints look awesome even if the prints are not aligned.
I wouldn't worry...it's the new way!!
Haphazard and fun and scrappy!
I love the fabric line you used!
So, so cute! Guess I need to order Sherry's ruler. And thanks for mentioning the fabric line. I haven't seen that one yet, gotta get some.
