Today I started another Fun and Done quilt called "Presto Pinwheels". This technique uses the sew as you go formula. To check out the variety of patterns you can go to http://www.prairieskyquilting.com/
Why does it seem like it always takes so much time to cut everything out? I'm always anxious to just get sewing.
With the Fun and Done patterns you make the same block over and over. You need a lot of backing fabric to make these quilts because it's used for the backing, the sashing, and the binding of the quilt. I bought a whole bolt of purple in order to make a twin quilt.
Folding the seams over and sewing them down creates the sashing between each block.

Nice collection of hooked rugs. Aren't you glad that Fall is in the air?
Wow.. this is looking very tricky..and COOL! I love it.. can't wait till you get more sewn together.
Oh wow, it looks so complicated. I would never guess fun and done. The cutting is a big deal with a quilt like this though. But I don't mind cutting out if my arm doesn't hurt. I like it.
I just googled fun and done and was curious to know what you think as ease of use to teach a thirteen year old to quilt if all the fabric was precut.
Any suggestions???
