Christmas Triangle Quilt

 I've been playing with
my Christmas fabrics the last few weeks
and have just finished a
Christmas Triangle Quilt
 I know. I know.
I'm either quite late for Christmas 2012
or veeerrryy early
 for Christmas 2013
*I prefer the later :)
I have wanted to make a pyramid quilt for the longest time.
Ever since I saw Amy Smart's (Diary of A Quilter)
Vintage Retro Quilt
I have been inspired to
make something similar.
My goal was to use what I have
and pulled fabric scraps from my Christmas stash.
I really liked Amy's idea of using
 different shades of solid greens
for the background rows.
I chose 3 different Kona greens.
Working with so many bias edges can be a little challenging.
I even have the back all made and will get this
 to the quilter right away.
2013 is off to a good start.

I love pyramid quilts - it might be early for Xmas quilt but now it will be there waiting for the season to start and you will really like that come the beginning of December.
I like that strip of paper for the borders - I don't have any on a strip and will need to check that out.

Love your triangle quilt, the three shades of green are really nice.

oooh! Gosh, I probably wouldn't buy the paper just seeing it in a store, thinking I'd just cut the triangles and save the money. But seeing your shot and how easy that had to have been, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat now. :)

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw Amy's quilt. I was already knee deep into my own Christmas quilt or I would have stopped right then and started this. I agree. Her use of green was inspirational. Now yours makes me want to make this immediately. Trying not to bend because I'm at my limit. But seriously this is one beautiful quilt. I love love it.

Mixing different blocks color can turn out really great specially if the colors you chose blend well together, just like what you've did. I prefer the same too, whenever I got extra fabric I used them to make some quilts.
