Wild Thing Quilt

 In February 2011 I finished piecing 

Wild Thing

a quilt for my grand daughter.

And then with the move, the quilt top

was put away in a box.

Out of sight,

out of mind.

 With my grand daughter's 3rd birthday

fast approaching,

I did some hunting through boxes

and found the top.

Pat Roche kindly helped me out

and did the machine quilting in just a few days.

I love the swirls she added,

which really make this

quilt pop.

 This was such a fun quilt to work on.

 Pattern: Wild Thing by Thimble Blossoms.

I even crocheted my own ric rac by following a 

tutorial by Fox Lane.

 I'm am a beginning crocheter, and the ric rac was easy to do.

I think it adds a nice handmade touch

from grandmother

for a sweet grand daughter:)

Owls are so popular right now, and these colors will

match my grand daughter's bedroom

perfectly.

 I continued the border fabric on the back and

also used it for the binding.

 The twisters are made from

5" X 5" Charm squares.
