Be prepared. In the next few days I will showcase some of the great "quilty" things Lori brought with her.
How does a master appliquer and designer travel with her projects? Lori (Bee In My Bonnet) made this very cute (and practical) applique carrier that keeps her blocks neat and organized.
First she took a mailing tube and wrapped a thin fabric quilt around the outside. She sewed the rolled edge down at the base of the tube.
The tube holds the pattern that has been rolled up inside.
Notice the cute ric rac? Lori said she likes to put ric rac on almost all of her projects.
I love the decorative stitches around the edge too.
The applique blocks are placed inside and then rolled up. This keeps them flat and clean and ready for transport.
Ribbons attached at the very end help hold things together once the tube is rolled.
What a great idea!

I loved this too...I already have it on my list to pick up supplies when I do my errands on Friday!
that is a cute idea. I do so much applique too and have been using 13 inch plastic boxes that I have gotten from Joannes fabric. They have a lot of storage boxes for needle work and scrap booking. I like how this idea rolls up though - looks like it would take up a lot less space in the camper.

What a fantastic idea! I love it!
Great tip. I'm going to have to start practicing my applique so I can do it.

That is a really awesome idea! Kudos to Lori! She's AMAZING!
Thanks Nedra, I'm inspired by Lori's travel applique carrier. Having blogger friends visiting must be so much fun! Looking forward to see what you have been working together - hugs Nat
Lori' s applique carrier is wonderful. I am thankful for all that we learned from her and all that she shared.
The retreat couldn't have been better and my withdrawals any greater. Missing you already!
Thanks for a great week Nedra. You are the quilt-hostess with the mostest!
I never thought of not closing the end up but of course it makes perfect sense now.
Good Morning Nedra!
I'm having serious withdrawel issues too...we should be having breakfast together right about now...sigh..
thank you again for the wonderful time.
