Kate, one of Ricci's dearest friends, is visiting this week from California. They have been busy making all kinds of wonderful things together the last few days.
First they made these cute Christmas wall hangings.
*Crazy Eight Reindeer panel by Sandy Gervais for Moda
And then they made baskets from the book "It's a Wrap" by Susan Breier.
Kate cut her black and white stripe into strips with the pattern going straight up and down. As she wrapped the fabric diagonally on the cording it gave it this almost dizzy effect.
Ricci made her basket with Kaffe fabrics. This will match the basket quilt she is also making.
She cut her black and white stripe on the diagonal to start with. Then as she wrapped, it gave the fabric an almost checkered look.
Working with stripes is so fun to experiment with when making baskets!
Love those Kaffes.
Ricci also recently finished this fall wool pillow.
I especially love the green piping around the outside.
The next project Ricci and Kate were starting today was working with these beautiful batik's.
Kate brought Ricci this cute doll or "Easter Fairy".
He has Easter Eggs at the bottom of his toes.
Kate is here for a few more days and I'm sure the time will be spent creating amazing things.
