I like to put out patriotic quilts during the month of July.
This is one I made a few years ago called "Flag Day" from the book "Gone Crazy" by Buggy Barn.
Buggy Barn is one of my favorite techniques to work with. I like it because there are no strong quilt rules.
I liked mixing up different fabrics for the flags
The 4th of July always reminds me how grateful I am to be an American. I love a celebration day to mark the beginning of our country. I also am appreciative of living in a free land made possible by the sacrifices of our forefathers.

Because the 4th is a holiday here in the United States, we got together with family for another pool party and BBQ at our house. It's so hot here in St.George during the summer, that staying near a pool is almost a must.
Jill and her dad Andrew.
Jill and Mom April. Don't you love those goggles?
Our nephew Tanner.
We got our nephew Nathan out of the pool barely long enough to grab a few bites of food and then he was right back in the water.
While waiting for the sun to go down to do fireworks, Andrew entertained the kids by Juggling.
The teenagers played a game where they pass a small ball between their feet called "Hackysack"
A few days ago Mr. Cactus' brother Gary and his son Tanner came over to build our fireworks display. This is what they put together for the "Grand Finale".
Mr. Cactus has a tradition of putting on a large fireworks display in front of our house each year. We used to live on a Cul de Sac, so we called it "Cul de Sac of Fire!". Groups of neighbors and family gathered by the dozens.
Now that we live in St.George on a street, we've toned things down in size.

What a fun, fun celebration! Love your quilt!
Wow Nedra! Looks like you had a really special day! Hope you actually got to enjoy some of it, and that you weren't too busy working hard in the kitchen and playing hostess! That's quite the gadget that Kent built - didn't know he was talented in that area! LOL
We rode our ATVs on Friday up by Strawberry Reservoir and it was SO pretty! And cool!
