Texture Magic looks a lot like a thin interfacing. First you sew it to a piece of fabric. We used cotton but it can be applied to any fabric. Then you place a steamer to it (not an iron!), and watch it shrink up 30% in every direction. The product comes with easy to follow instructions.
I first used this product when I attended the School of Threadology. Annie Unrien taught a class using Texture Magic in a purse she designed. At that time the product wasn't on the market yet. Now it is and you can order it on Superior Threads website HERE.

Think of all types of fun things you can make. I loved putting it on the bottom of a purse. I'm also thinking of adding it to blocks on a baby quilt. You know how tactile babies are, and I know they would love to touch the soft little wrinkles.

Wow...I'd love to try this...but with every new product comes a new tool...guess I'll have to buy a steamer!
This looks like so much fun! I first saw this, or a similar product, on Melly and Me's Blog. I will have to check it out.
Melly and Me sent me a piece at Christmas. Haven't used it yet because I haven't decided on the project. They shared a couple of fantastic projects on their blog using it and I LOVE it. So glad to know it's now available in the US.
Love the new product. The industry is constantly coming out with great things for us quilters--love it.

I've seen this before on a blog. I wasn't sure about it but I will take your word for it. It looks kind of odd to me actually. I guess I have to see it in person. It doesn't look like something I'd normally be drawn to. I can't see (yet) what I would use it for.
