Lori Holt Blog

One of my favorite Utah quilt designers has just started a blog and I'm so excited! I have loved Lori Holt quilts for years. I've made a few of her traditional patterns, and have collected some of her applique patterns that are still waiting to be done. (someday).
Lori doesn't have a web site, so before now the only way to get one of her patterns or to see new items was if you happened to be in a store that carried her things.
Lori's "Bee In My Bonnet" company specializes in Vintage designs through fabrics and patterns. Her applique quilts are wonderfully creative. She asked because of copyright laws that we not download her pictures, so you'll just have to check out her things yourself. You will find her at http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/
If you love vintage and applique, these are the quilts for you.

This is one of Lori's traditional patterns called "1930's Black and White". I used the reproduction granny fabrics from the 1920's and 1930's. I made this about 3 years ago before I moved to Southern Utah.

You still can't order Lori's patterns through her (except wholesale), but she does list 2 quilt stores in Utah that you can go to and order her things on- line.
I'm just happy to see what new creations are coming out of her brain, and I love how she tells the stories behind each quilt. This is going to be a very fun blog to follow.

Nedra, this quilt speaks to me. I love 30's and I love the pattern. What is the name of it so I can order it? Thanks so much.

Thanks for all the info...I just found Lori's blog from Nanette and was wondering how I could get her patterns...I've never seen them before. My sister-in-law lives in South Jordan (near Material Girls)...and I was going to have her look for me...but I'll look for the quilt shops you mentioned! Thanks!

Lori is so talented. I'm glad she started a blog. It is so fun. Her quilts are darling. I've made a few things (sold or given away) with Lori's patterns. They are so fun.

Last summer I searched every where for this pattern and finally had to call Lori and she sent me to Material Girls to purchase the pattern. I have all my 9 patches made and need to get back to working on it. I love this quilt so much!
