Dixie Diva March Night Meeting/ Part 1

Tonight we met for our Dixie Diva March Night Meeting. Margaret was our host this month and she came up with a fun St. Patrick's Day theme called "Gaggin' Green". Margaret is our party person who always has the most clever ideas.
We were asked to 1. Wear Green 2. Bring a green treat 3. Bring an Irish joke.

Even though we didn't coordinate our ideas, we all came up with different foods to share.

Remember Lucky Charms cereal? Jan J. brought everyone a bag along with green peeps.
The most hilarious part of the evening was when we shared our Irish jokes. It was Margaret's idea that we each tell a joke, but as each person said their punch line, Margaret sat with the most perplexed look on her face. She didn't "get" any of them! Not a one!
Margaret and Bev are in charge of our Guild's Quilt Show that we are hosting next month. These are the aprons our volunteers will be wearing.
Bev
Pat Peters is Irish by heritage and has made several trips to Ireland.
I took a lot of pictures tonight, and will show more in my post tomorrow.
Our guild gave us each a pink fat quarter and asked us to include the fabric in a challenge quilt for our show next month. This is Melissa's challenge quilt.

This is Ricci's challenge quilt.

Margaret made a table runner with her pink fat quarter.
I thought I'd share with you my Irish joke:
"A blond Irish woman was overweight so her doctor put her on a diet. "I want you to eat regularly for 2 days", he tells her. "Then skip a day and repeat the procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least 5 pounds."
When she returned, she had lost 4 stones (=56lbs). "Why that's amazing." said the doctor. "Did your follow my instructions?"
The blond nods "I'll tell you though. I thought I was going to drop dead that 3rd day."
"From hunger you mean?" asks the doctor.
"No", replied the Irish blond. "From skipping".
(Don't worry Margaret, I'll explain this one to you later)

I so got the joke--really funny. You all did well with your pink challenge. The quilts look great.

The joke is really cute. It is a blonde irish joke! I gotta remember it. I have a problem remembering jokes. Maybe because I'm like Margaret.

The date with Dixie Divas looks like a fun time. I have a weakness for peeps. I didn't know they had green ones! Note to self - find green peeps!
