Daniels Summit/ Part 1

There is a wonderful quilt store in Utah called "Quilts, Etc.", and every November they offer a quilt retreat up at Daniels Summit. I've attended every year since they first began 10 years ago. It's on the top of my list for one of my most favorite things to do. I love the resort located about 20 miles east of Heber City. One of the most peaceful settings on Earth.

Quilts, etc. takes about 35 women for the weekend festivities. This year we had 8 in our own little group of girlfriends that went up together. We have known each other for years, and look forward to this fun time together.
Ricci, Patsy, Judi, Louise,Ruth, Beth, Pam and me.

The lodge is nestled up in the mountains near Strawberry Reservoir. They offer snowmobiling in the winter and horseback riding in the summer. We love to go there year round. They have a great restaurant with down home type cooking, including home made pies. One of the things on our must do list is to get fresh fudge at the general store.

One time when I was at Daniels Summit a large moose walked right up to the window.
The retreat starts Friday night at 6pm. Our little group likes to get in early and enjoy the offerings of the resort. We love to sit by the fireplace with our hand work and relax while we look out on the meadows of trees covered in newly fallen snow.

I think their decorator does a fantastic job. The walls and decor are covered with Indian and Cowboy artifacts that represent Utah's history and culture.
It doesn't get better than this.

It looks like you have so much fun...and staying in a cozy lodge with the snow all around sounds heavenly to me. Had to tell you I made your pumpkin muffins yesterday and they were delicious!
