Emily's Circle Block

 Life is feeling pretty
good right now.
I just finished another
Bees Knees block.
Oh, it's so nice to be caught up
in at least one category
this time of year.
For November the
Circle Block
(sometimes called a Dresden Plate)
was sent from
the very talented
Emily Herrick
of
Emily sent each of us a different color range
to make her block.
My color was
Orange
I did add in a few of my own fabrics to
add in some extra
scrappiness.
This block was also paper pieced,
although very easy to do.
The pattern comes in half arcs,
and then you sew the two sides together.
I am really curious to see how Emily will be assembling her quilt.
We are to send it back, raw edges and all.
I wonder if it will look something like
The Cartwheel
made by AngelaFMQ
*found on flickr
Doesn't this look like wonderful flavors of lifesaver candy
or bright
 inner tubes
used to float
on in the pool?
This quilt says summer.
To find out what Emily will be doing with
her blocks,
we will just have to follow her closely
on her blog
Which, by the way is a very curious name
because Emily is neither
old or crazy.

All those orange fabrics look gorgeous! What a fantastic quilt. I like the idea of paper piecing from that pattern in two half arcs. It has given me an idea: I've got all my Christmas fabrics on the floor at the moment, trying to decide what to make. I think it would be fun to do a circle like yours in those fabrics - what do you think?

The block is great. Love the mono orange. I really like the looks of how the quilt will turn out. A super project.
