Great Grannies 1-4

Great Googly Moogly!
These Great Grannies are so fun to make!

I've been pawing through my scrap piles, matching up little bits of this and that.

I really like being able to use up some favorite 2 1/2 -inch fabric strips left over from jelly rolls.

I wish I could put the world on pause, and just stay home today and sew one block after another.
With large blocks that finish at 12- inches, this quilt will be able to come together in no time at all.
Lori made her sample quilt table topper size with 9 blocks.
I know I want to make mine larger, with at least 20 blocks.
I'm having too much fun, and it's so nice to use up more of my scraps.

Thank you Lori for your wonderful tutorial that makes putting these Great Grannies together easy and fast.

If you would like to join the Great Granny Along, you can read the details at Lori's blog Bee In My Bonnet, or at Jodi's Pleasant Home.

Thank you for sharing your photos. I am working on Grannies, and was wondering if you found that sometimes they don't want to lay 'square' and you have to sort of 'fudge' the angle on the side cut to get a square block? I did find that if I put some sizing on the block first it does square up more easily. Perhaps some more practice will help.

Love them...yes, wouldn't it be fun if we could just sew these blocks all day! I love the larger size!

I've been painting my laundry room squa while my machine is in the shop...a fun project, but not nearly so fun as sewing!

Am loving these blocks! I have so many scraps but they are all so different....wondering if I want to do this with what I got. I love how color coordinated yours look! Mine would probably look like a mess.
