Sonoma Rose

Imagine my delight when a publicist from Dutton/Penguin Group contacted me recently and asked if I would like to review a copy of the latest book from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Chiaverini.
Oh, yes, I think I could do that!

I've taken notice of Jennifer's work over the years and have read most of her novels.
My family and friends often give me her books as a gift.
Sonoma Rose goes on sale February 21st, and will be the 19th book in the Elm Creek Quilt series.
Available on Jennifer's web site, and I also noticed it can be purchased as a Kindle edition on Amazon.com

Sonoma Rose is a historical fiction novel set in the 1920's in Sonoma County, California.
The story tells of "How one woman's courage and vision wrought true change, for her family and herself."
Intertwined with the rich history of wine country during prohibition, I found the book to be a real page turner.
My sister lives in nearby Napa Valley, surrounded by miles upon miles of exquisite wineries, and I enjoyed learning the history of survival for the land owners during those "dry" years.
Jennifer has been writing the Elm Creek Quilt Novels since 1999, and I have watched her mature as an author and writer with each book.
The New York Journal of Books has written "Jennifer Chiaverini's strength is not only writing strong female characters, but also placing them in interesting life and times."

Jennifer Chiaverini (pronounced Shev er ee nee) is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Chicago. She lives with her husband and 2 sons in Madison, Wisconsin.
She is also a quilter, and author of 5 collections of quilt projects inspired by her novels.
