Sunburst

During the last few road trips I've worked on a crocheted afghan started a while back.
I'd almost forgotten how relaxing crochet can be.
Sunburst is one of those great projects that can be pulled out from time to time as you travel.
The squares are easy to do and I can actually remember where I left off.

The Sunburst block starts with an inner circle, a row of puff stitches, surrounded by another row of cluster stitches.
A scrappy look, and a nice way to use up little bits of left over yarn.

The outer edge is a traditional granny square.

This will be a work in progress for some time because an afghan will require a lot of these little squares.

My inspiration came from Sarah London's Sunburst Pillow.

*I know Sarah offers kits for this pillow on her website.

Can't wait to see the finished afghan - but I won't hold my breath!! It's always great to have a "take with" project! Thanks for sharing!

I love this pattern! It will be beautiful! Is it done in wool?

Those little squares are just lovely! I love the white outside round which really shows off the design in the middle. That will be one cheerful afghan!

How pretty! And I do like to have small projects for those waits that seem to be unavoidable sometimes.
