Floribunda In Kaffe

When I first saw Floribunda, I thought the main block was so interesting.
I knew it would be a great quilt to play with some of my Kaffe fabrics.
My goal is to start using fabrics that I have in my stash, and I've been a collector of Kaffe for many years.

The original pattern: Flannel Floribunda Quilt by Scott Hansen is a free pattern offered by Free Spirit.
(and a good opportunity to use the word free over and over!)

The biggest challenge was try and figure out which fabrics to use for each of the 4 blocks.
As usual with scrappy quilts, it almost took more time to cut out than to sew.

The blocks are large, and go together quickly.
Finishing at 21-inches, and I think would be nice standing alone as a wall hanging.

In fact, next week I may play with this pattern some more.

Next time I will use a little more conservative fabrics.

These Kaffes are bright, bold and busy!

What do you think?

Wow! Depending on color placement each block looks so different. What a terrific free pattern. I love big blocks. This is really bold and beautiful.

There is no such thing as too bright, too bold and too busy when it comes to Kaffe... This is yummy Nedra!

what do I think?? I think your timing is providence, your color choices perfect, and Floribunda is wonderful. yesterday, my friend and I agreed to make Kaffe/Amy Butler quilts for each other for this Christmas. So I've pulled all my fabrics, fondled each one, but had no idea how to make something special this quickly, (because I'm doing the kids art quilts for the Oct. fundraiser, of course.) And here you are with the perfect idea, in the nick of time.
Thank you, Sam.

Wow Nedra! That block is so unusual - it's not often that you see one so unique! I can't wait to see what you do with a different set of fabrics.
