Covered-Button-aholic.
I've resisted for a while, but the addiction is back.
If any of you have been following my blog for the last few years, you know this has been a deeply seeded enslavement.
Frankly, I see no relief in sight.
In fact, if the truth be told, I see more covered buttons in my future.
Many, many more.
My latest attachment has been making Covered Button Bracelets.
It all started one day when I walked into a local store and saw packaged Charm Bracelets on sale for around $1.
I chose the nickle chain bracelet with the toggle clasp by Darice, although there are many other options available.
Blue Moon offers some nice charm bracelets, also.
And now I am back to making covered buttons. I buy my buttons in bulk from
coverbuttons.com
They have great tutorials and offer a good selection in sizes.
For these bracelets I used a size #45 (1 1/8")
At first I tried attaching the covered buttons with a jump ring. Even using my handy jewelry pliers, I found them hard to maneuver around the bulky button.
Next, I tried using a spring ring. Worked like a CHARM. (ha ha, get it?)
Popped easily around the bracelet link and the button.
Popped easily around the bracelet link and the button.
My latest experiment has been to try Minkee scraps. Fuzzy, soft, warm.
I just may be petting this button as I wear it on my wrist.

Love the bracelet. I have done rings but nothings like this. Thanks for the tutorial. You are very crafty.

Fun! Instead of matching T-shirts - maybe the bee girls going to shows should try matching bracelets!! Hmmmm! Thanks for the tutorial!
Neat idea! My 19 yr old would love these bold bracelets!
I think you have got me hooked. I've loved covered buttons but never tried them. After this post and visiting the others youhad linked. I'm going to buy a bunch of button covers and go to town.
What an adorable idea! Those would make awesome Christmas gifts. I'm addicted to covered buttons too but I use them on quilts and purses. Love the idea of turning them into jewelery!
Now you have a way to use up lots of your covered buttons. You could have a bracelet for every outfit, season, day of the week!
SOOOO Cute!! How do you keep the buttons so the pretty side is facing out?? Is it really so easy that you don't need to post a tutorial??? Hmmm?? I seriously want to make a dozen of these!
This is definitely something I have to make myself. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! ALOT!! Thanks for sharing this great post.
Nedra ~ You are darling! As I read your post I could just see your excitement and you petting that braclet. It is so adorable!!! I might have to come down and have you teach me to make them. (Sounds like a good excuse to get together... he he he!)
Hugs~
Oh I LOVE this idea and I might just have everything I need in my stash. Thanks for sharing this idea - I see crafty Christmas gifts~
Now you have a reason for making the covered buttons. It's really neat and think of all the colours you could do.
Lori was wearing a similar bracelet the other day. I would love to make these. So fun.
