Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts

I have been very fortunate. When guests come to stay at our home, they bring me the most wonderful gifts.
Recently, Susan A. of Arizona gave me this beautiful new book Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts by Martha Stewart.

As a quilter, and lover of all things hand-made, I was drawn in to every chapter.
Martha really got it right with this book.

With over 150 projects, a CD is included that provides patterns and templates that can be printed at home. Isn't that a great idea? That left the 400 pages free for beautiful photography.

One of the things I appreciate about Martha Stewart is her organizational ideas.
There is a section for setting up a sewing area.
Tips on fabrics, threads, sewing supplies, and basic techniques.
Literally everything from A to Z. Animals, aprons, bags to slippers, table linens, upholstery and wall decor.

Embroidery how-to's.

And a lot of patterns.
Be still my heart.
On page 241 there is a tutorial for making a covered-button boutonniere.

So many projects that would make wonderful Christmas presents.

Or baby shower gifts.

Most of the projects are fairly simple, and look doable.
In fact, I see so many ideas to use up my scraps.

My only problem is I want to do it all.
Thank you Susan for this beautiful book! I have already spent a good portion of time perusing through the pages, dreaming away.
