How They Decorate For Christmas in Arizona

Have you ever wondered how they decorate for Christmas in Arizona?

Remember the expression "When in Rome, do as the Romans do?"
I guess you could say "When in Arizona, do as the Arizonans do."
My friend Jackie informed me that this is what they call a "Santa Cactus" !!

Works for me.

Tomorrow is a sad day for me. It's time for me to head home to Utah and back to the real world.
No more kissing on these precious faces.

No more singing songs and snuggling with Isaak at bedtime.

No more running my fingers through Noah's beautiful curly hair, or taking walks together.

No more "Love you Grandma", and "Love You More!"
The only thing making it possible to pull out of the driveway in the morning is the anticipation of knowing they will be coming to our house in St. George for Christmas.
I can make it for two and a half weeks.
Maybe.

It's so hard to leave those cute grandbabies behind. I miss mine and they live close.

Think about how happy you'll all be when you see each other again. I miss mine, being in another country. The baby is so gorgeous.

Oh Nedra, I know exactly how you're feeling...I count the days between visits every time I see them. Oh how I wish we lived closer. What sweet children!

They are adorable and I can just understand how you must feel. But the kisses and hugs are not that far off, hang in there. By the way, there is nothing like a Santa Cactus.

I too know the feelings of leaving the precious faces behind to return to a normal life.
Lucky that your's are a drive a way in AZ and not across the country or even in a different country...
Santa Cactus would be a good companion for the lighted palm trees I saw while living in Florida! LOL

That has got to be the hardest thing for us as grandmas...leaving those sweet little grandkids behind and saying good-bye. I hope you have a very safe trip home. Your grandchildren are beautiful!

Oh Nedra, I know it will be hard, but they will be back in your arms very soon. and might I say, "Wow, are they ever darling"!!

Love love love the Santa Cactus! When I was a kid growing up in AZ, we had a huge ocotillo in our front yard. Every where, my mom would string green lights up and down the long branches, then remove the green bulbs at the tips and replace with red bulbs for the buds. It was so beautiful.

So to have to leave the beautiful grandchildren. I'm sure they will miss you very much.

What precious grandchildren. Loved your earlier blog on the quilt shop. I love seeing all the quilt shops. That way I feel I'm not missing out.

I suggest staying busy, breathing deeply and counting the days, not minutes! I know you're going to miss them for the next couple of weeks. The worst part is they grow up so fast, that Kayla will be doing even more things in a couple of weeks when you see her.
