Superior Threads Tour

Today was the first day of the Dixie Quilt Guild's Show. As part of the entrance tickets, Superior Threads offered a tour with shopping at their warehouse.
I spent the day welcoming happy quilters from all over Utah, and showing them the wonderful place I get to work.

It's a delight to be able to associate with the helpful staff at Superior. Today Bob Purcell offered some nice sales on discontinued stock.
He was available to answer people's questions about their machines and thread, and even ran the cash register.

I love being around quilters. Everyone came in with smiles on their faces and left even happier.
Seeing all the beautiful colors of thread is like looking at candy. With over 2,000 different products, it's hard to comprehend all Superior Threads has to offer.
Jai is the daughter of Bob and Heather Purcell. She does a lot of computer work for Superior. She is holding her daughter Avilyn, who we have nick named "The Superior Baby". Avilyn is always happy and full of smiles, and we love to fuss over her.
Annie Unrein was at the warehouse today, demonstrating a new Superior product called "Texture Magic".
She also offered some of her patterns for sale.
Annie has designed some purses, where she has placed Texture Magic on the bottom. The latest application is on a baby quilt. Knowing how tactile babies are, I think adding Texture Magic to some of the blocks is a perfect idea.

These pictures show how Texture Magic works. It comes in a sheet that has the consistency of light interfacing. You add it to the back of a piece of fabric by basting in long lines down the back. Touch it with a steam iron and within 10 seconds the fabric shrinks 30% in all directions. I'm telling you, I think this is one of the coolest new products on the market right now, and it can only be purchased in the United States through Superior Threads.
Tomorrow I am working at the Quilt Show and will be bringing you more pictures.

What a great day! I use Superior threads in my longarm quilting and love them! All the different colors and types are enough to make your head spin. (In a good way.) I have seen that texture magic on an Australian blog and it looks so cool. I would love to try it. I will have to get my LQS to get some.

Hi N, I love and agree with your "eye candy" reference. This "candy" is truly non-fat;) I too have seen a product like Texture Magic on one of the Australian Blogs and was waiting for more info so I could order some. So glad it's here and just down the 15 (about 6 hours) from me;) Thank goodness for the mailman;) Looking forward to seeing your pics of the show. Happy Easter;)

What a tempting place to go! LOL
I will have to look for the texture "stuff" in the stores soon. A fun product for purses and baby quilts I agree!
