Church Quilt Day/ April

Our little church quilting group met today. We have started combining with another group that meets to talk about preparedness for the first hour. We appreciate this other group because they are teaching us how to cook with food storage (with recipes and tasty samples), and organizing us into neighborhood communication systems. Our goal is to be able to help each other out as neighbors in case of a local emergency.
I'm telling you, if there ever is an emergency, these are the people I want to hang with. I am so impressed with the organization and talent each person brings to the group. These people know what they are doing.
After the preparedness presentation, a few of us met and brought hand work.
Patty is working on a large applique project.
She said she hopes to finish in the next 10 years. The way she is progressing, I think it will be done much sooner than that. Patty works at a local quilt store and does beautiful long arm work.

Her inspiration for this latest project comes from the most recent Fons and Porter magazine.
It's called "Daisy Dance"
Yep, she's got her work cut out for her.
Ann didn't want her picture taken because she said thought the scarf she is crocheting is ugly.
That Ann. I personally like the scarf she is working on. I'm sure one of her grand daughter's will love it too.
Ann made this cute little purse and gave it to Connie. She said it was very simple. It's made from a folded place mat, and then she added on some ribbon embellishments.
Connie is working away crocheting baby blankets for future presents.
It was nice just to sit for an hour or so and visit. These are wonderful women who are always so involved in helping others. They each are a great inspiration to me.

I just want to sit and look at that Daisy Dance quilt all day. It is delightful! I may need to run out and pick up that issue. :-)
