Christmas teatowels and Potholders

"The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit." (Nelson Henderson)
This is a great time to buy Christmas fabric. I've found 40% off sales in most quilt stores around town. I've been wanting to make something home made for some ladies at my church who I visit each month.

Yesterday Nanette of Freda's Hive posted a tea towel tutorial, that are easy to do and are so cute! She started with flour sack tea towels. I ran out to our local Bed Bath and Beyond and found these.

Sewing jumbo rick rack and Christmas fabric to the towels makes them very festive. I made two sets today, using the same fabric to make matching potholders. Both these sets whipped up really quick and were fun to do.
