Miracle Ironing Board Cover

 Happy Valentines Day
my friends!
I  hope your day is filled with
XXXX 's
and
OOOO 's
 I bought myself a little
Valentines present
and let me tell you,
I am in
LOVE
Years ago I had purchased a
and used it
and used it
and used it
until it eventually wore out.
Next I decided to purchase a regular
cotton covered
ironing board cover.
because it was easy to grab
at a local store.
 What was I thinking?
I must have been experiencing a
or
a memory lapse
because within a few months
the cheap muslin cover was marred with
ugly stains
and the pad was thin and worn through.
As a quilter who uses an ironing board every day
I knew how to remedy the problem.
I quickly went back to
my first love
and purchased a
The covers are woven with a fiberglass yarn
guaranteed  * never to burn.
(* set iron on MEDIUM heat )
It's the same kind of material
used for
firefighters, race car drivers and astronauts
protective clothing.
They come in a wide variety of sizes and product.
When ironing delicate linens or silks
the nap allows the iron to glide smoothly
and buttons to sink into the cushion.
For quilters, it's wonderful for pressing seams
and avoids the imprints
from the seam allowance.
I am now happy, happy, happy
and only wish I could find an iron
that demonstrates the
same kind of quality.

thank you for that link - this is something I need to invest in for both my little board and my bigger board - I saved that link and will look back at it later today

That's a great tip. I had a great ironing board cover many years ago. When it finally wore out, I couldn't find a similar one. Thanks for the link. Happy Valentine's Day to you, too. :)

Great idea! It is discouraging to buy a cute cover and then have it stained/ugly within a few months!

Thank you so much for posting where I can buy one of these! I haven't found one in years, the last one was at the state fair.
Also, I'm going to vent here. Where can I buy a nice surdy ironing board? The last 2 were poorly made! I invested in a nicer one made by Martha herself and it wasn't any better :(
Oh well, great blog, great quilts....carry on :)

I got one of these at a show several years ago. I really like mine, my sister, not so much!

I have had the Miracle Ironing Board cover for years and I really enjoy it. I need a replacement - but - when I ordered it from the manufacturer I received an e-mail confirmation for my July 30 2014 order - but have not received the cover - even after three unanswered e-mails. I am still hopeful - but need a different vender to purchase from if at all possible.

I've experienced the same as "unknown" posted. The Miracle Ironing Board people (in southern California...they've had that same address for years) hit my account (debit card) and never, no never delivered my cover. I even wrote them letters to their street address in CA telling them if there were problems I could help them with, I'd do whatever I could to help out as long as I could get my Miracle Ironing Board cover. I would love to know where these are manufactured so I could go directly to the manufacturer. I want another one (mine is almost totally worn out after many, many years of use).
