Soccer When You Are 3

When you are 3 years old, it's a lot of fun to learn how to play soccer.

You get to pick cool team names like "Orange Crush" and wear a great uniform.

Even though easily distracted, you learn how to (sometimes) keep your eye on the ball.
And at really good moments, you may even kick the ball towards your own goal.

When you are tired of running it's nice to go back to the sidelines, get a drink of water, and have your dad (who was a star soccer player) and older brother Isaak give you tips about playing the game.

It's wonderful to hear your cute little sister shout "Noah" as you run by.

Especially when she looks so cool in her backwards baseball cap and stylin' sunglasses.
Future cheerleaders of the world look out.

But sometimes you want to forget about chasing that soccer ball and just sit on your shoes with your back to the action.

And sometimes you would just like to be shy and hold onto mommy's leg.
No amount of encouragement from your coach, or shouts from the crown seem motivating enough to get back in the game.
But that's OK, because you are only 3 years old.

One of the better parts comes when your parents do the "Huddle" and you and the other team mates run through the middle.

For a few moments you are the STAR amidst shouts of Good job Noah!

But the very BEST part is getting really good treats at the end of the game!

So neat to be able to go to your grandson's game - one of the perks of living close by.

How darling! The kids remind me of Peanuts characters with the long shirts, shorts, and short legs. Precious!
