Mesa Verde Rock/ Group Quilt

There were so many impressive quilts at the Arizona Quilters Guild Show.
I really liked the concept (and the quilting!) behind Mesa Verde Rock.
Six talented women created "Six impressions, blended into one of the ancient ruins of Mesa Verde, City of Stone".

Isn't this a wonderful idea for a group quilt, or friendship group challenge?

Each woman chose her own color scheme, and yet the groupings all display so well together.

Even the different skill levels and techniques blend pleasingly.

Beautiful machine quilting.

Mesa Verde Rock was created by Gerri Lougren, Carlyn McManus, Lynn Jaenke, Judy Griffin, Kris Coats and Barb Shorty.

My bee used this concept years ago - we each had a photo of our house - took them to Kinko and blew them up - sliced them vertically into 8 pieces and each one made her section then they were sewn together! The ones that were finished came out great! It was a LONG process and kind of fizzled at the end! We did finish one of a group of foxes and donated it to a charity event - our town is on the Fox River so foxes are a "popular" animal!

wow - I love this - I saw one of a different scene quite some years ago and it looked really good.
