Linda's Birthday Album Quilt

When I was at the Arizona Quilters Guild Show there were so many people viewing Linda's Birthday Album Quilt that I had a difficult time getting a picture of the entire quilt.
I love Baltimore Album quilts, and this is a magnificent example.

Appliqued and hand quilted by Carol Rich.
Carol made this for her sister's 50th birthday.
(I'm ready to ask Carol if she will adopt me)

Carol wrote that several of the block designs are from Elly Sienkiewicz, or adapted from Elly's blocks.
Carol designed many of the blocks, border, and quilting pattern.

Some of the blocks have special family meaning.

As people were huddled around Carol's quilt I could hear many comments on her beautiful hand quilting. Several people mentioned the uniqueness of her borders.

Beautiful!

The applique AND the quilting are simply spectacular! You don't see many quilts of that caliber anymore, huh? Too much machine quilting going around...... Lucky you to see it in person.
