Feeling Patriotic

I love working with Texture Magic. It adds depth and dimension to every project. I think it makes wonderful designs even better!

I have the good luck of being able to create Texture Magic projects with Annie Unrein.

For my 2nd design we worked on Feeling Patriotic

(Includes 14"X28" pillow, 12"X12" pillow and 16"X28" Table Runner)

One of the things I wanted to do when making Feeling Patriotic with Texture Magic was to work with some of the wonderful metallic threads made by Superior Threads.

These are easy to work with!

I know there are some horror stories out there about working with other metallics, but Superior Threads has done it right.

No tangling. No thread breakage. Just smooth sewing the entire time.

I used Superior Threads Metallic #9 (Military Gold)

and sewed straight lines on the white and star corner of the long pillow.

I also love working with Razzle Dazzle, that is used only in the bobbin.

So easy to use! I just wound my bobbin the regular way with Razzle Dazzle. For the top thread I used MasterPiece.

Annie came up with a wonderful grid system where you make your own star fabric for the corner. Instructions are provided in the pattern.

Because you can sew Texture Magic from the back, the Razzle Dazzle will stitch to the front.
