Martha Bateman is our new guild president, and already she is doing a wonderful job.
Yesterday we had Show and Tell as part of our meeting. Because I took so many pictures I will show these in 2 parts.
Broderie Perse technique by Mary Walthers.
This technique is where you cut out a shape from another fabric and applique it onto a background piece.
Look how beautifully Mary designed the outside edges of her quilt.
Our guild is so large, I'm sorry I don't know the names of many of the people who brought Show and Tell.
She called it her "Wonder Quilt", meaning she wondered when it would be done. She finished it several years ago, and has been waiting for a friend to have the time to quilt it.

Looks like there was plenty of show and share and a lot of fun!!

Thanks for the terrific show and tell. I loved seeing a close up of the edge of the broiderie perse quilt and I think the last one is ingenious for the snippets of leftover fabrics.
Missing my quilt meeting last month it was good to see what the Divas were up to. Love it all. I am really interested in the applique technique you showed in the first pic. Interesting.
LOVE the first quilt....the borderie perse. The edge finish is absolutely fantastic. I hope that lady enters it in a show.....she will win a prize for sure! I also like the way the snippets are used....very creative!
