Gifts From Lori

Lori Holt (Bee In My Bonnet) is one of the most creative people I have ever known. When she comes to my house, I am always showered with the most wonderful gifts that have been assembled with that Lori Flair.
If you are looking for some fun ideas for Christmas presents for your quilting friends, you can thank Lori.

Apron In A Jar
Complete with pattern, fabrics and trims needed for one really cute apron.

With an attached recipe card

I can hardly wait to sew with the pom poms from Riley Blake.

Cupcake Wrappers
Lori gave these as gifts for every one of her students who took her class at Quilted Works. What a nice teacher!

Handmade paper flowers.

Quilt Group Cookbook.
Lori belongs to The Clothesline Club sponsored by Quilts, Etc. in Sandy, Utah.
Each member shared their favorite recipes.
I've had some of Lori's Shrimp Dip, and it's YUM!
Cute Halloween treats

Lori brought both Jodi and I the pattern and supplies to make Snap Bags. I worked on mine while we were together Saturday night.
A great project to use up scraps.
These can be quite addictive to make!

Snap bags have measuring tape sections sewn into the top that allow the bag to open and close with a snap.
Lori had Mr. Honey cut up one of his old measuring tapes as a donation for our work night. We rounded the corners, then wrapped the edges with duct tape so they would not cut into the fabric. Great tips!
It was so wonderful having my dear friends Lori and Jodi here for 5 days of quilting fun. Thank you ladies, and I miss you already!
Tomorrow I will show you some of the things Jodi spoiled me with.

I've given cookie-in-a-jar gifts before, but apron in a jar is just too cute and clever! I love the pom pom trim stuffed into the top!

This is all SO clever! What a great friend Lori is! I especially like the idea of the measuring tape inside to work with a magnet. Excellent!

What great ideas! What a dream - 5 days with fellow quilters - who come bearing gifts, no less!! Word to the wise - I used the snap bag technique on a Tag-a-Long purse (Teri Atkinson design) - didn't SNAP as well - because the purse is too big! Hmmmm.

Sounds like you had so much fun. I bought that Snap Bag pattern at the Henderson Quilt show and they are a lot of fun to make. Can't wait to see your apron finished.

She's something isn't she. I'm so glad she is our friend. She had great things to tell me about her time with you and Kent. I will see Lori on Wednesday and I can't wait.

How clever! I love the look of that cook book too. Quilter's 'F' recopies must be easy and quick to make right?
