Pat's Design Wall For Small Spaces

Yesterday I showed you quilts from the home of my friend Pat Peters.
As you know, Pat is an award winning quilter. Her amazing creations have their start in a small bedroom of her home that has been turned into a sewing room.
Because of limited space, Pat has created a design wall idea that is quite ingenious.
When fully extended, the design wall can hold large quilt projects, and is the size of the double doors of the bedroom closet.

Voile! When Pat needs to use her closet, she can pull the design wall above the doors.

The pulley's work something like a roman shade, and go easily up and down.

The bottom has an extender to keep the design wall away from the closet door knobs, and at a taut and even angle.
Necessity is the Mother of All Invention.
Thanks for sharing, Pat!

That certainly is a slick way to have a design wall. Most importantly we need function and that seems to function quite nicely.

HEY, when Moda came and did a quilt shop makeover at my LQS that's basically what they did. But they actually used a roll-up shade (kinda plastic bamboo type) and affixed batting to it. It's pretty cool! Not sure if they used glue or cement or whatever to adhere the batting to the shade.
