The Material Girls Quilts

Before we headed home from Salt Lake last week, I knew I had to make a stop at one of my favorite quilt shops The Material Girls Quilts.

Such a fun shop, with over 4,000 bolts of fabric, including notions, buttons and trims and patterns.

Owner Nadine Woodraska has done a wonderful job.
I also follow Material Girls blog, which you can find on my sidebar.

My girlfriend Lori Holt (Bee In My Bonnet) teaches a lot of her applique classes here at Material Girls where they feature many of her patterns and quilts.
She and Nadine are best of friends.

One of Lori's first applique patterns was Apron Club, and it's still one of my most favorite.

Apron's can even be used as a pillow toppper.

I spy Nadine!

Of course I love everything in the store.

Look at this cute child's raincoat made with Riley Blake's Rainy Days and Mondays fabric.

One of the reasons I wanted to stop was I had a gift certificate given to me by my friend Lori for my birthday a few months ago.
Thank you Lori!
So many choices! What to buy?

I ended up selecting a Bella Solid as a background fabric along with the Dresden Tool.

When we were up at Rae Ann's cabin, Lori did a Dresden demonstration, plus she will be having a new Dresden pattern coming out soon.
I'm now ready.

Oooooh, what a fun store! I can spend so much more time in a crafty store than I ever want to spend in any other kind of store. It was fun visiting the store through your images. :)

I'm glad you got to Material Girls to spend your birthday money...and that you're going to try dresden plates. Be careful they're very addicting!
By the way...I didn't know that Darlene repackaged her ruler and included a little point turner tool. That's great...my ruler is so old...I bought it when it first came out a long time ago....I've been using a small crochet hook to turn the points.
I'm glad you got the new version. Have fun with it!

DD#2 & I were in Material girls a few weeks ago and found fabric to use in the baby's nursery. The bedding is now complete and looks so adorable! That's a really fun store to visit!

I love Nadine's. I think QUilted Works is moving in this direction. There is so much to see at Nadine's. She really has it all.
