Phoenix Day 2

It's been a wonderful day here in Phoenix. My favorite part, of course, has been just being with my daughters and grandbabies.
This morning I went to my grandson's first set of swimming lessons.
Isaak is 3 and he goes to the lesson with his cousin Sophia.
They are best friends.
Fortunately Isaak loves water. He was excited to learn how to do the back float.
I remember the relief I felt when my children became "water safe". I'm glad to see my daughter is working towards the same goal.
My son-in-law Dano just opened his 2nd Costa Vida restaurant last week in Queen Creek, Arizona . He is a very hard worker for such a young man.
We headed over there today for lunch because I wanted to see the finished store.
The sign just went up yesterday.
The location is 21152 E. Rittenhouse Rd. Queen Creek, AZ
If you are in the area, make sure to stop by.
Costa Vida is a fresh-Mex restaurant, and all the ingredients are natural. There isn't even a microwave on the premise. The chili's for the salsa are fresh roasted and not out of a can. They make their own tortillas and grill their own chicken, etc.
I love their food!
The opening was last week and already the place was packed. We were there a little after the normal lunch hour and just about every table was full.
Queen Creek is quite a distance from their other location in Mesa, but the word is out about the quality and affordability at Costa Vida.
As you order your food they make it fresh right in front of you.
Amy had a pork burrito.
I had a mango chicken salad with a wonderful cilantro lime dressing. Yum, Yum!
I sure wish there was a Costa Vida in St. George!
The other Costa Vida is at 1744 So. Val Vista in Mesa
My daughter Amy is a busy mom with two little boys and #3 on the way.
Aren't they a beautiful family?
I did have a few minutes today to run into another quilt store in the area.
Zoe's Trunk is in Chandler, AZ
They don't allow any pictures to be taken inside the store, so this is all I can show you.
I picked up a few small things and they had a nice selection.

Hi, are you still in Arizona? I happened to came across your lovely blog and found you often come to Arizona. I live in Scottsdale area and just found a very nice quilt shop lately in Cave Creek! Have you been to "THE OLDE WORLD QUILT SHOPPE"? I used to go to Zoe's Trunk, but now THE OLDE WORLD QUILT SHOPPE is my favorite shop!! They are gorgeous...

Okay, so you know I go to AZ to visit my parents in the winter. They actually live in Mesa. Next February when we are out there, I am going to make it a point to go your son-in-law's restaurant on Val Vista. I think I know exactly where it is. And as for Zoe's Trunk it is just one of my fave's, but you already know that. What a great trip so far. The grandbabies are precious.

Yes, they are a beautiful family. Good for him to be such a hard worker. Unfortunately, in this day and age, there aren't many you can say that about. The food made my mouth water - it's lunch time here. It's nice you got to feed your soul too at the quilt shop.

Your family looks so wonderful. Congratulations by the way on #3 grandchild on the way. I love the pictures of the kids in the pool. They look so relaxed, like they are enjoying it 100% and like you, it is a huge relief when they are as water safe as possible. About taking pictures in quilt shops...the only time I have been allowed to take photos in any of the nicer shops around here (about 50 miles north of Salt Lake City) was when I had purchased a kit and the fabrics were different than those in the pattern so I needed a reference picture. Also when I had signed up for a class that was quite expensive (no materials were included) and I wanted to email a picture to my sis in law in Oregon who is a custom long arm quilter. After much discussion, they decided it would be okay for me to get ONE, and only ONE picture. I thought that one was odd because it was an uncompleted quilt top, only about 1/3 done and I just wanted some ideas from her concerning color choices. I do understand why they don't want you taking a bunch of photos of their finished projects, plus the light sensitivity issue (I suppose). Well, keep enjoying your time with your lovely family, and keep the photos coming. So much fun to see. Have a blessed weekend.

So now I'm starving...the food looks delicious! Is it a chain...or are there only 2 of these restaurants! I might really have a reason to go to Phoenix now!

Wow--your little family is precious! Those little boys are just as cute with mom and dad as they are playing with their bowling pins. The restaurant is my favorite kind! Looks Delicious! Have a wonderful rest of your stay in Phoenix!
