The Start of Tone It Down Quilt

 With deadlines and
many other quilt related projects in the works
I really shouldn't think of starting
a new project right now.
But this week I've decided I'm long overdue
for a little personal quilting.
Something I want just for me.
I've been collecting a few fat quarters here and there
for the last few months to make
Tone It Down
designed by Lissa Alexander (ModaLissa)
I've been on the hunt for low volume backgrounds
that also have a modern look.
 Block 2 (size 15 1/2" X 15 1/2")
 is now complete
with only 18 more to go :)
This quilt may take me a while to complete,
as it will have to be worked on in between other projects.
That's OK, it's fun just to start.
I really enjoy the process of pulling fabrics
and imagining what the quilt will eventually look like.
 TONE IT DOWN
pattern
was featured in the
If you can't find the issue on the newsstands
I know a digital issue is available for download
 Lissa invited several designers to
make this pattern.
So many choices of styles!
I was considering making one like
Notice how all of her backgrounds are a consistent white.
But, I finally decided to go with
the scrappy look
with varied low volume backgrounds
like the one Lissa made for the original pattern.
Scrappy quilts really do call to me the most.

That quilt can be for any error. I love your choice of fabric. It's nice to see it on IG as well - Hugs Nat

Nedra, I have been making mine...blocks all sewn--just cutting the sashing. I did 25 blocks and did Moda Lissa's version. I love it...some quilts just sing to you. I mostly used current stash. Only bought a few fat quarters to freshen us the quilt. Enjoy this journey.
