The Clothes Vendor Quilt

 One of the most
unique quilts
from the
Quilters of the White Mountains
quilt show
was a large, almost life size 3-D piece
The Clothes Vendor

"Inspired by Art Quilting in general,
the images is of an old woman
selling clothes on a sidewalk flea market.
Original photo's taken by an old friend when
employed in the Foreign Service in Kyrgyz Republic."
 So realistic and lifelike
I could almost hear her voice.
 Layers of clothing
give this art quilt depth and personality.
A culture and time
now well preserved
and
to be remembered.

very unique, sometimes I am amazed though at the mixture of "quilts" in a show - this one doesn't really look like a quilt - I would think it is very hard to judge shows with such a wide variety of quilts in them - you can't use the same "rules" to judge an art quilt versus a bed quilt can you
