The Phoenix Modern Quilt Guild
really is a diverse group.
I would guess that the median age is mid-30's
but there are also several in my age bracket
(50+)
Some have been quilters for a long time,
while several have been caught up in the addiction just recently.
One of the nice things about our diversity, is that age really doesn't matter.
It's a friendly group, and everyone is welcome to join us.
At the end of each meeting
we have
"Show and Tell"
One member is a pattern tester for
Elizabeth Hartman (Oh, Fransson)
A soon to be released pattern
The second quilt made by this member.
Pyramid or Equilateral Triangles
are usually not for beginners.
She did a great job!
Kim's Foxy quilt
Very cute paper pieced Fox
A Work In Progress
is finally finished.
Block of the Month
made all in Kaffes
And on the back, more Kaffes!
Celtic Wall Hanging
from the book
Celtic Pieced Illusions by Karen Combs
Still available on
Amazon.com
And last, but not least
a whimsical
raw edge scrappy wall hanging
that has been scribbled with a dark top thread.

very nice quilts - the quilting groups here need some new young quilters but they do not seem to be interested in coming to the quilt groups if they are out there - most here in quilting are 50-70 and not always open to new ideas in quilting but we are a small town area so I guess that is to be expected.
