Applique Workshop with Christy Fincher

 Our Phoenix Modern Quilt Guild
June meeting was last Saturday.
Christy Fincher (Purple Daisies)
taught a great
Applique workshop
As a member of our guild,
Christy is always so willing to share her
vast knowledge with our group.
Christy is the daughter of Sharon Schamber
and lets just say that the
talent apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I learned a new applique technique that I had never seen before.
Christy showed us how to use an
Applique Foundation Stabilizer sheet
that makes perfect pieces.
A very cool and easy to do technique.
The foundation sheets can be ordered on Christy's website
We were treated to a Trunk Show of
many of Christy's applique quilts.
 So beautiful!
Christy has co-authored a book with her mom.
 Bari Ackerman  (Bari J.)
is also a member of our guild.
She brought a few samples of her quilts
that she has made using this same technique.
 wow
 The Guild gives great prizes.
Denise won the Fat Quarter bundle
generously donated by Bari.
You can see Bari stitching away right behind Denise.
I love Bari's newest fabric line
Bijoux
We were sitting at the lucky table!
I also won a fat quarter bundle
plus
a $20 Gift Certificate
from Pink Chalk Fabrics :)
Thanks Christy for a great workshop!
