Would You Drive This Car?

In looking for crochet projects for my inspiration file, I came across this Smart Car designed by Magda Sayeg of Knitta, Please!

In Magda's bio, she is known for "Taking knitting out of the home, and into the streets."

and for "Inserting handmade art into a landscape of concrete and steel. She adds a human quality that otherwise rarely exists."
I'll say!!
Mr. Cactus wants to know if I will be working on our car soon.
I wonder if she will be publishing a pattern?
(just kidding)

That's hilariously cute! It makes you want to go out and buy a smart car just so you can make one too. lol!

That is so cool. I had actually thought of doing that to my car with quilting instead of knitting. I'm glad you posted it, it is awesome.

I'm with Janet...I bet we could do some really fun quilting designs on a car! Wonder if we added enough batting...if they'd lower the insurance premiums? ;-)

What fun! I'd drive it for sure - but not in the rain!!

lol...maybe! Does that look like the Mile a Minute stitch on the hood? I think it might be since there appears to be granny squares on the doors. That is just too funny!

This is truly a case of having too much time on one's hands don't you think? But I do love it! Years ago my friends made me swear I would never wear my quilts (cutting them into pieces and resewing into clothes)...but they never said anything about driving one!

I had to show my hubby and boys this one. Now this is a car I could get into.
