Individuals, quilters and non-quilters were asked to send in a 12" quilt block that represented a family memory.
The blocks trickled in over several weeks where they sat on my design wall.
I was also asked to design a few blocks for those who didn't complete their assignment.
I even did a little hand embroidery to add names to a few of the blocks.
From the non-quilters, there were some very creative blocks.
I loved the individual nature of each piece.
Some were hand painted.
Others had memorabilia and BLING!
Some sent yardage and asked if it would fit in a block.
Others sent blocks that did not quite meet the 12" requirement.

It was easy for me to pull from my stash and add a border here and there.

That is a really cool quilt! Everyone had to have their thinking caps on and it is so different than just the regular signature block too. Love it!
You have a real flare to do this kind of quilts. I'm not surprised you get asked by your friends to help out.
Love it - Hugs Nat
You did a beautiful job Nedra and the quilt turned out great! What a fun idea. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Amazing job of pulling together disparate pieces and making a lovely cohesive unit--perhaps the very essence of quilting!
Nedra: I love it! I especially love the rose in the middle, of course. I also thought the person who did the Tom Jones block was pretty clever. Not sure if they like Tom Jones or if that's their name and so they found a block with Tom Jones in it. Really funny. I like it lots better than the typical signiture quilt. Hugs
What a fun quilt and it represents all various personalities. Great idea.
